RESUMEN Se evaluaron 16 plantas con antecedentes nematicidas, determinando su capacidad hospedera de Xiphinema americanum s.l. Los ensayos se realizaron en un terreno que presentaba una alta población de este nematodo, durante 6 meses. Se observó que sólo en topinambur y tomate se produjo un aumento significativo de la población con respecto al testigo en barbecho; sin embargo escasas poblaciones se detectaron en espárrago, especies de Tagetes, melisa y dengue. SUMMARY Sixteen plants known as nematicidal, were evaluated as hosts for Xiphinema americanum s. l. The assays were conducted in a field with a high population of the nematode, during 6 months. Significantly increase of population was observed only in Jerusalem artichocke, tomato and as compared with fallow (control). Low population was detected in asparagus, species of Tagetes, Melisa officinalis, and Mirabilis jalapa. Key word: Xiphinema americanum s.l., hosts, nematicidal plants, Chile.
