EFECTO DE VARIOS INSECTICIDAS EN LA LONGEVIDAD DEL PARASI-TOIDE Aphidius ervi HALIDAY (HYMENOPTERA: APHIDIIDAE).

EFFECTS OF SEVERAL INSECTICIDES IN LONGEVITY OF THE PARASITOID

SUMMARY

The effects of the insecticides dimethoate, pirimicarb, imidacloprid, thiacloprid, spinosad and azadirachtin, applied at commercial dosages onto mummified Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris), were evaluated in the labo-ratory on longevity of adult and inmature Aphidius ervi Haliday, an important aphid parasitoid.

Results of longevity indicated three insecticide groups. The most selective insecticides were thiacloprid and azadirachtin; followed by a group composed by imidacloprid, pirimicarb and spinosad, which showed mild toxicity on A. ervi. Dimethoate severely affected survival and longevity of parasitoids. Excepting thiacloprid and azadirachtin, toxic residues of the insecticides remaining on mummies treated killed adult parasitoids during emergence.

Key words: acyrthosiphon pisum, Aphidius ervi, azadirachtin, dimethoate, imidacloprid, longevity, pea aphid, pirimicarb, spinosad, thiacloprid.
