Article N°AJ31-6

Abstract

Ectopic thyroid is an uncommon pathology, but it is very transcendent because of the important role that  thyroid hormones play in the development of the child. The clinician, the nuclear medicine physician and the radiologist must be aware for the early detection. The clinician wants to begin the treatment as soon as possible, and the nuclear medicine physician and the radiologist must keep in mind the places where ectopic thyroid can be situated. All the images  have to be gathered from the tongue to the mediastinum. We present one case seen in our hospital.

Key words: ectopic thyroid, thyroid dysgenesia, congenital hypothyroidism.
